Sometimes, we hold back because we want what we build to be perfect.
Sometimes, we’re afraid of putting our ideas out in the open.
Sometimes, we think everything we create needs to make money.

But sometimes … you can just build things.

I’m really inspired by Mitchell Hashimoto, who started working on Ghostty, a new terminal project. When he posted about it, my first thought was: Why would anyone do that?

But watching him build in public has been surprisingly inspiring. He’s accepting feedback, he’s facing criticism, and yet, the project doesn’t have to “complete” to exist. It doesn’t have to be perfect.

It reminded me that building isn’t just about the end product. Sometimes, it’s about the process, the learning, the act of creation itself.

Looking back, I wish I had just built more things. Not for anyone else, not for profit, not for approval ... just because I could.

And sometimes, that’s enough.
